April 22, 2017 — Spotsylvania Utilities staff is continuing to flush the distribution system to eliminate any residual issues resulting from yesterday’s water main break. The voluntary boil water issuance will remain in effect until we receive the results from two consecutive bacteriological samples (each spanning 24 hours).
We appreciate your patience and cooperation during this time and will update our customers again Sunday evening.

April 23, 2017 – The Utilities Department has flushed and tested all affected areas following the repair of the water main break on Friday, April 21, 2017. All bacteriological sampling has shown that water within the affected area is safe for consumption in accordance with Virginia Department of Health regulations. The precautionary boil water notice is hereby lifted in all areas with the exception of Commonwealth Drive and Onyx Court. Due to the location of repairs, restoration of water service was delayed to that area. The precautionary boil water notice and sampling will continue for Commonwealth Drive and Onyx Court until sampling requirements are met. Next update will be issued the morning of Monday April 24, 2017.
UPDATE: April 24, 2017– The Utilities Department has flushed and tested all affected areas following the repair of the water main break on Friday, April 21, 2017.
